You need to be at least 17 years old and have a provisional driving licence before you begin driving lessons. However you can  apply for your licence up to three months prior to your birthday so you can book your first lesson for the big day.

 You must also be able to read, in good daylight, a car number plate at a minimum distance of 20.5 metres (about 67feet) If you need glasses to read this then you must wear them while driving. If you are in any doubt pay the Optician's a visit for an eye test(normally free of charge).
